A Mountain Wedding Dream at Granby Ranch

On August 21st, I had the absolute pleasure of teaming up with Jennifer Garza Photography to photograph one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve captured in quite some time. Set at the stunning Granby Ranch ski resort, this wedding was the perfect combination of romance, nature, and joyful celebration.

Getting ready was a breeze. The bride had the sweetest little yurt at the top of the mountain to slip into her dress. It was a gorgeous, flowing lace gown with the most dreamy long veil—absolutely perfect for the wind and mountain light. The groom looked incredibly sharp in his grey suit paired with a classic white tie. Together, they looked straight out of a fairytale.

The ceremony was held right at the edge of the mountain, with one of the most jaw-dropping views I’ve ever seen at a wedding. It was not only stunning visually but also rich in meaning. The couple incorporated both of their religious backgrounds beautifully, praying together during the ceremony and ending with the traditional breaking of the glass. They also included a rock stacking ritual—a unique and symbolic gesture that added a special personal touch. The weather truly showed up for the occasion too. We had five minutes of rain—just enough for good luck—and then clear skies for the rest of the day.

There were so many gorgeous spots around the venue to capture this couple’s love. I honestly could’ve kept shooting for hours. Every direction offered a new frame-worthy moment: wide-open vistas, soft wildflowers, tall pines, and that sweeping mountain sky. These two were a dream to work with, and we created a gallery full of memories they’ll be able to treasure for a lifetime.

This wedding had originally been scheduled for 2020, but like so many others, it had to be postponed due to the pandemic. After all that waiting and uncertainty, seeing this day finally come to life was emotional and rewarding beyond words. It was more than worth the wait.

After the ceremony, guests celebrated with a champagne toast before hopping on a gondola ride down to the base of the mountain for the reception. Talk about an entrance! The reception space was cozy, welcoming, and full of energy. The food was absolutely delicious, and the music had everyone on their feet.

One of my favorite moments of the night was the couple’s first dance. They started slow and romantic, then surprised everyone by breaking into a fast-paced, twirl-filled routine that had the entire room cheering. Later in the evening, they kept the party going with a spirited round of the hora—it was such a joy to capture so much movement, laughter, and love.

I’m so honored to have been part of this beautiful celebration. From mountaintop vows to gondola rides and dancing under the stars—it was truly a day to remember.
