On September 22nd, I made my way to Evergreen, Colorado to photograph a wedding that felt both exciting and deeply familiar. The venue? Whispering Brook Ranch—a private residence tucked into the pine-covered hills and owned by one of the kindest families I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I photographed a wedding here a few years ago, and returning to capture another Himmelman celebration felt like coming home in the best way.
This time, it was Morgan and Travis’s turn.
From the moment I arrived, I could feel the energy buzzing. The ranch looked absolutely stunning—nestled among towering trees and open skies, with thoughtful, rustic-chic décor that fit the mountain setting perfectly. The details were elegant but unfussy, allowing the natural beauty of the venue and the joy of the day to shine.
Morgan and her bridesmaids got ready in the cozy bridal suite, sipping champagne in matching robes, laughing, and helping each other prepare. It was one of those slow, sweet mornings full of happy nerves and heartfelt moments. Morgan’s girls were there every step of the way—touching up makeup, adjusting jewelry, smoothing curls—and the love between them was so genuine. When Morgan slipped into her dress, there were definitely a few happy tears.
Meanwhile, Travis and his groomsmen had a more laid-back prep session. Once suits were on, it was time for celebratory shots—and not the photographic kind. The guys were in great spirits and ready for the day ahead.
The ceremony took place with an unforgettable view: rolling mountain peaks in the distance, pine trees stretching in every direction, and a sky that seemed to stretch on forever. Their officiant, Sam Adams (a comedian!), delivered a ceremony that was equal parts heartwarming and hilarious. Laughter rippled through the crowd, followed by the quiet sniffles of happy tears—it was the kind of ceremony where everyone felt the love.
Morgan and Travis stood at the altar beaming at each other, practically vibrating with excitement. It was obvious to everyone there that they couldn’t wait to say “I do.”
Their story is just as sweet as the ceremony itself. They first met at Boise State—Morgan was a freshman in a sorority, and Travis, a sophomore wrestler. According to Morgan, “he was very persistent,” and it clearly paid off. They officially started dating just a couple of weeks after being introduced. After graduation, and a year of long-distance love, Morgan made the move to Colorado to be with Travis. He proposed on New Year’s Eve, saying he couldn’t go into the new year with her being just his girlfriend. (Cue the collective swoon.)
After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate—and the Himmelman family knows how to throw a party. The reception was full of energy and love, with friends and family packing the dance floor and cheering on the newlyweds. La Cuisine of Evergreen served up an incredible buffet that had guests raving, and dessert didn’t disappoint—a stunning cake by The Noshery and a cozy s’mores station by the bonfire kept the sweet tooths satisfied all night long.
Morgan and Travis’s first dance was one of those moments that makes your heart melt. They were completely in their own world, swaying to their song as everyone looked on, smiling. The DJ kept the party going well into the night with a mix of throwbacks and dance-floor favorites that had guests of all ages letting loose and loving every second.
This wedding was such a joyful, heartfelt celebration of two genuinely kind, down-to-earth people. It was an honor to be part of their day, and I couldn’t be happier for Morgan and Travis as they start this new chapter together.
Congratulations, you two—wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure.
